Flat or curved, a canopy finishes off the exterior entrance to any building. 

A glass canopy or glass roof is usually specified in one or other laminated form.  This can be an annealed laminate, or for that "Belt and Braces" approach to safe glass installations, the state of the art approach is to utilise toughened/heat soak tested panels, laminated together.
