What did we supply?

The balustrade required a bespoke glass solution that provided striking aesthetics and excellent safety performance, all delivered within a challenging timeframe. 15 panels of 21.5mm low-iron toughened curved glass were supplied, manufactured to follow the staircase’s exact radius.

SGP manufactured each curved glass panel to precise technical specifications, ensuring an exact fit and flawless finish. The team reviewed detailed measurements and drawings to ensure accuracy for the bespoke curvature.

Advanced production techniques were required to meet the demanding radius requirements. It was important to ensure rigorous quality checks throughout manufacturing to maintain the highest standards. SGP coordinated closely with Verto Architectural to align production and delivery with installation schedules.

The outcome

SGP helped bring an ambitious architectural feature to life, creating a statement staircase for one of the UK’s most prestigious sports facilities. The bespoke curved glass balustrade was manufactured with precision to meet the client’s exact requirements. The completed staircase now forms a striking centrepiece within The Clubhouse, with the curved glass enhancing both the visual impact and the sense of space throughout the interior.

“I have known SGP for well over a decade, and they are, without question, our absolute default choice whenever glass is involved. The best quality and fantastic service are what we have come to expect. On top of this, if they give you a date, they hit that date – no excuses, and that is very hard to find in their field of supply.”
