Specialist Glass Products has been going strong for 20 years as of April 2023, and to celebrate, we have invested over £675,000 into our facilities, equipment and internal training!

Established in March 2003, over the past two decades, we are proud to say we have become one of the UK’s leading glass manufacturers and suppliers and are extremely proud of everything the business has achieved so far.

Specialist Glass Products manufacturing facility

Over the next few weeks and months, we will have new high-spec equipment arriving to add to our already outstanding collection, including a Bovone Polishing Machine and an Intermax Laminated Cutting Table, complementing our toughened and flat glass offerings as well as a new CNC machine and Bystronic Cranage Machine.

Specialist Glass Products will also invest in employees with training for the new equipment and further training in lean manufacturing to enhance professional development and allow customers to benefit from the most up-to-date industry knowledge.

The SGP Interlayer and toughened glass

Our high-spec manufacturing facility allows SGP to create glass bespoke to its exact client requirements, making it one of the only firms in the UK to be able to offer multiple services. Its state-of-the-art equipment includes a glass bending machine, which allows glass units up to 3200mm x 5000mm to be curved.

With more than 40 years of experience in the industry, our managing director, Andrew Taylor, reflects on his journey to date: “Since starting the business back in 2003 with just two other members of staff, we have seen some tough times, not to mention the past few turbulent years following the pandemic, supply chain shortages and energy crisis. Still, we have persevered and put everything into growing the company into the thriving firm it is today.

“We look forward to continuing the growth we have seen over the last 20 years and are expecting exciting innovations to improve sustainability and battle the energy crisis, especially with the Future Homes standards bill coming into play in 2025.”
