Our double-glazed units (DGU) are silicone-sealed using a dual-seal system and manufactured from various sizes and types of glass, including laminated and toughened glass.

For extra impact, patterned, wired, clear, and tinted options and specialist-coated glass varieties are available. Our flat double-glazed glass can be ceramic or screen-printed and argon-filled to create units with lower U Values.

The manufacturing of double-glazed units (DGU) offers several benefits compared to traditional single-pane windows:

Enhanced Thermal Performance

Due to the insulating layer between them, double-glazed units significantly reduce heat transfer. This results in better thermal insulation, keeping environments warmer in winter and cooler in summer, reducing energy consumption for heating and cooling.

Improved Sound Insulation

Double-glazed units provide better noise reduction compared to single-pane windows. The multiple layers of glass and insulation help soften external noise, creating a quieter indoor environment, perfect for commercial and public spaces.

Optimised Energy Efficiency

By minimising heat loss or gain, double-glazed units contribute to improved energy efficiency in buildings, lowering energy bills and reducing carbon emissions associated with heating and cooling.

Condensation Control

The insulated design of double-glazed units helps prevent condensation from forming on the inner surface of windows, reducing the risk of mould growth and maintaining a healthier indoor environment.

Advanced Security Features

The dual-pane construction of DGU provides an additional barrier against forced entry compared to single-pane windows, enhancing building security. Double-glazed units manufactured with toughened and laminated glass will be considerably more safe and secure.

From commercial to residential design, the versatility and advantages of double-glazed units (DGUs) are endless. Our double-glazed offerings promise tailored solutions to meet the diverse needs of projects of any size.

Potential Applications of Double Glazed Units:

Thank you for your excellent service involving the design, supply and installation of the glazed link structure at Hall Farm, Hathersage. We pride ourselves on our high quality of design and recognised that Specialist Glass Products should meet our aspirations. The complexities of working on listed buildings in the Peak district, combined with the arduous site constraints were always going to be a challenge. However, the finished product has surpassed the expectations of all involved including the discerning client and the planning officials. Needless to say, I would not hesitate to recommend your services. Thank you once again and I look forward to working with you again in the future.
