We’re pleased to announce that Specialist Glass Products has been shortlisted for the Investment Award at the Yorkshire Business Masters Awards 2021.

Our Yorkshire family-run business has gone through a large-scale investment programme over the last 48 months, with a combined investment of £6 million to extend our manufacturing area from 30,000 sq. ft. to 72,000 sq. ft. and equip the new facility with the latest state-of-the-art machinery so we can process, cut, toughen, bend and laminate glass up to 6000mm x 3210mm.

The new high-tech equipment and additional working space have effectively quadrupled our production capacity, ensuring that we can not only meet the requirements of larger projects but can also produce glass most cost-effectively.

The Yorkshire Business Masters Awards celebrates the achievements of the most innovative, ambitious and successful businesses in the region and we are among four companies shortlisted for the Investment Award.

The awards ceremony will take place on Thursday 14th October at the Queens Hotel, Leeds.

Our Managing Director, Andrew Taylor, commented: “We are delighted to be recognised in the Investment category! As a team, we are committed to research and development to ensure we provide the best possible services for our clients. ”

“Although the pandemic brought much uncertainty to many businesses, our ongoing investment into the firm’s operations enabled us to meet increasing demands, contributing to regional economic growth.”

TheBusinessDesk.com’s Yorkshire editor, Ben Ormsby said: “We were overwhelmed by the quality and quantity of entries for this year’s awards, with many demonstrating resilience and forward-thinking in the face of the challenges brought about by the pandemic.

“The judges had some very tough decisions to make over the shortlist, as the competition was extremely high.”

Specialist Glass Products was also shortlisted for  Manufacturer of the Year (under 25m) at the Made in Yorkshire Awards after demonstrating excellence and making an outstanding contribution to the manufacturing sector in Yorkshire.
